To ensure optimal performance, the sensor should be placed in a dry, shaded location, ideally on the north side of your house, about 6 to 18 inches below the eaves, to protect it from moisture buildup and direct sun exposure.

The weather-resistant case can withstand light moisture, but the sensor is not waterproof. The wireless transmission range is up to 330 feet in open air, although walls, floors, and windows may reduce the range. The sensor is powered by two AA batteries (not included), and it is recommended to use brand-name standard batteries with an expiration date at least 6 years in advance of the current year or a voltage reading of 1.48V or higher, to minimize RF interference.

The sensor measures 1.57 inches in length, 0.79 inches in width, and 5.12 inches in height. It features a red LED light that flashes when a transmission occurs, and it can detect temperatures ranging from -40°F to 140°F (-40°C to 60°C) and humidity levels from 10% to 99%. The update interval is approximately 50 seconds.
